Beijer Electronics acquires Westermo
Beijer Electronics announced the strategic acquisition of the Swedish company. Westermo develops and manufactures industrial data communications products, such as switches, routers, fibre optic modems and modems for local networks as well as for wireless communication, and has a leading-edge competence in industrial applications. Westermo has an estimated global market share of five per cent, with a strong presence in Europe where the major markets are serviced through wholly owned subsidiaries. "The acquisition of Westermo is a strategically important step in the continuing development of the Beijer Electronics group. Westermo's broad product portfolio and high organic growth complement and strengthen Beijer Electronics' offer within industrial automation and infrastructure applications", says Göran Sigfridsson, CEO of Beijer Electronics Group.
