25 Years of Wiring Solutions for Automation Technology
Lumberg is known for high-quality connectors and components for automation technology. Karl Lumberg GmbH & Co. KG, founded in 1933, developed the first "waterproof" connectors in the beginning of the 1980s as a response to a customer request and started to produce them in series. This laid the cornerstone for a new business area.

A short time later, the product range was expanded to include distribution boxes. "Active" components were added in the 90s: field bus modules were integrated into the product range as a logical further development below the controller level. These products and accessories placed Lumberg in the position of being able to provide its customers with a complete wiring concept.

Bus Coupler for modular, decentralized LioN-Link system
This bus coupler has an integrated switch which enables Profinet network wiring in Profibus network line topology. In addition there is an integrated web server which can be activated via a standard TCP/IP connection. Via this connection various information can be called up and settings can be made using a standard web browser: in addition to calling up device information it is possible to set IP addresses directly. Furthermore diagnostics data of the connected LioN-Link I/O module are displayed as well as status information. The integration of a monitoring function makes it possible to monitor the sensors and actuators connected to the I/O modules. Here the diagram of the LioN-Link system structure in the web browser also helps. These tools considerably simplify working with the system, in particular its startup, installation and maintenance.
